A solid outer metal ring encircles a centre spiral-wound sealing element (metal winding and filler material) in a Style CG spiral-wrapped gasket. In addition to providing radial strength, preventing blowouts, and serving as a compression stop, the outer ring positions the gasket perfectly inside the flange bolt circle.It works well with ordinary flat-face or raised-face flanges, general-purpose applications, and mild service conditions.
Style CGI (Centring Guide with Inner Ring)
The CGI spiral wound gasket has an extra solid inner metal ring in addition to the same spiral-wound sealing element and outer centring ring.It can be used in vacuum applications, high pressures, high temperatures, and hazardous or corrosive environments (typically the current requirement under ASME B16.20 standards).
